Policy on data ethics
Data is a prerequisite for P+ to operate efficiently and responsibly. If for example we did not have data about our members' age, contributions and employment status, we would not be able to ensure the correct savings and insurance schemes. At the same time, data is becoming increasingly integrated into companies' business models as a result of ongoing digitalisation. Ethical considerations about how data is used are therefore also necessary.
P+ supports the data ethics principles adopted by the the industry association Insurance & Pension Denmark (Cool or Creepy). It is important to us that data ethics becomes an embedded part of our internal culture, and that data ethics go hand in hand with our other values. Our aim is always to use data in a responsible way, and we will be transparent about how we process data.
P+ does not buy or sell data, and the pension fund's data is not disclosed to third parties unless we are required to do so under legislation, a court or authority decision or similar.
Use of new technologies and training of algorithms
Like many other companies, P+ follows the development in society and the increasing degree of digitalisation. This means that the pension fund continuously works to support and optimise established workflows and processes.
When we acquire new technology, change the use of data or existing processes, we follow a structured process that among other things ensures sufficient management anchoring and includes ethical considerations and user involvement. We ensure that for instance the use of algorithms is not programmed to produce discriminatory or biased results.
